Bihar Darbhanga News: Not installing smart meters in Milli Chak village of Dilawarpur Panchayat of Bahadurpur block of Darbhanga is proving to be costly for the people. Actually, while removing the old meter and installing a new smart meter in the houses, the villagers started protesting. It is said that the department workers have been coming to the village for installing smart meters for many days. The bill in smart meter is very high.

If the electricity bill is not deposited before time, its electricity is automatically turned off. The process of installing smart meters was started in two phases in the district. In the first phase, the work of installing smart meters was started in urban areas. After this, a campaign to install meters in rural areas was launched from the month of April. A target has been set to install a total of three lakh 20 thousand smart meters in the rural area. For this, time has been given till August 2025.
Darbhanga Rural Electrical Executive Engineer Kundan Kumar said that the electricity of the entire village has not been cut. The JE has been asked to look into the matter. The power was cut due to a fault in one phase. It has been asked to fix it.
